The Affiliate Program

The Baker+ Affiliate Program is a network of all machinima creators whose work has been distributed on Baker+. Affiliates receive access to exclusive channels on the Baker+ Discord Server, where they can connect with other Affiliates.

Unsolicited submissions

Baker+ accepts unsolicited submissions only via the distribution request form. Any other submission (via Discord message, mail or other) will be rejected and/or referred to the form. This makes sure that all submissions provide the same information and allows a more streamlined review.

Pitches for Original Productions are accepted through the form as long as they contain a synopsis, a logline and a nutshell. See how to make a Baker+ Original for what the pitch should include and where to send it.

Quality check (QC)

Every submission is reviewed. This is a simple fail or pass test: the machinima has to meet the non-negotiable terms below to be considered. Meeting them does not guarantee distribution.

• The media must be at least Full HD (1920×1080) and at least 24 fps.
• The media must be 16:9. This can be bypassed within reason, for example for creative impact, such as a parody or homage of an older TV series shot in 4:3.
• The media must contain voice action (VA) in some way, shape or form.
• "Let's Plays" of any kind are not accepted.
• The production is complete. For a series, all episodes must be complete and ready to be released.

You may request distribution close to the end of the production, but movies and series are only shown on Baker+ at their official release date. Episodes can be released on a schedule or all at once, depending on your wishes.

If the production meets these requirements, it moves on to the content review.

Content review

After the quality check, each submission goes through a review with the following criteria. Most are decided case by case and depend on the context of the production.

• The majority of the media must be shot cinematically. First person POV is accepted if it fits the storyline or cinematography, but it must not contain any HUD overlays.
• The media must contain a scripted storyline. Roleplay productions without a specifically scripted story are distributed only case by case.
• Baker+ does not deny distribution subjectively based on the storyline, which is judged fairly from an objective standpoint. Baker+ does, however, reserve the right to deny distribution due to the story for any reason.
• The movie or show must contain voice action. Submissions without VA may still be submitted, but are decided case by case.
• A standalone title must have a minimum runtime of five minutes.

Distribution process

Legal and rights

Upon acceptance into the program, every submitter signs a Distribution Agreement. Baker+ is granted rights to the discretionary use of the content provided, while the Creator holds all copyrights. By default the agreement is non-exclusive, so the content can be uploaded to other platforms as well.

• The signee must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age in their country). Alternatively, a legal guardian may sign on their behalf.
• The full legal name of the submitter must be used. This name and any other information is treated confidentially, is not shared with third parties and is not accessible to Baker+ Team Members below the Executive Level.
• Signing the agreement is not negotiable and must be completed before the release or promotion of the content. Further details and questions are discussed during the process.

Distribution package

To display and promote your content properly, you submit your designs to Baker+. They are attached in the submission form. If the package is not fully submitted, distribution may be put on hold or rejected. The requirements are described in the Baker+ Distribution Design Guideline.

Distribution on site

After the previous steps are completed, Baker+ distributes the media at the next convenient possibility. If a special release date or rhythm (for series episodes) has been agreed upon, Baker+ makes sure the dates are met. Once distributed, you receive a link to your content as well as access to the Affiliate Program. Further steps are then discussed with you.

1. Read the requirements above and check that your production meets them.
2. Prepare your distribution package with the designs described in the design guideline.
3. Send your production through the distribution request form.
